Multicultural Persepectives and Issues

We're all the same ... We're all different!
Our Ancestors
Our class ancestors were English, Scottish, Irish, Greek, French, German,Native(Mi'kmaq), Polish, Ukranian, Australian,Norwegian and African.

BUT

We all smile in the same language!

And I NEED to tell you about labels.
Not the kind of labels you smack! on a sardine can like: "fresh." I'm talkin' the kind you smack! on someone's forehead with words.
Labels can stay on your "forehead" or in your heart for the rest of your life.

Labels are usually negative words.
After a while people begin to believe the labels or "names."
Like if I called someone "stupid"  everyday they  lived, they would give up trying to be smart and act towards the name I call them.

Everybody uses labels, (even me).
Sometimes it just slips out when you get angry and I'm trying to stop that. People often label other people by they look, the way they  speak and many other characteristics about them.

Labels and teasing after a while could make someone want to commit suicide(kill themselves). This has happened before. They might even murder the labeler. That's why I feel so strongly about NOT labeling.
I have been labeled many times and I'm sure it's the same with you.(even if you don't admit it).As you know it hurts to be labeled and sometimes you feel you want to explode. Like I have been saying I have been hurt too. Mostly before I came to this school.
Then just this year I realized Hey if someone has a problem with my appearance I don't have to change. I have friends. They will stick by me and I with them.

So the saying sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me is a lie. Please don't label me or anybody else. Remember they have a brain and feelings just like you. This has led me to a conclusion, don't point a finger, lend a hand, which I heard but I don't know where it came from.
Thank you so much for your attention.

But deeper than the skin and bone
Is a person no different than you and me
only in individuality.

                                     Boys and Girls are Equal!
Boys and girls can be the same and one cannot be better.
It would not be fair.
Everyone should be treated the same and not feel left out!
Boys and girls are equal!
